...and Miles is still awake. I am trying to take my Mother-in-laws advice and let him learn on his own that if he doesn't go to bed he will be tired the next day. Heaven help Ms. Hopkins tomorrow.

Trauma Update
I was so concerned about Miles all day. I have been so sad because Miles really went to school thinking that he was a bad a kid....and Miles is not a bad kid. Troy even called me today and said that he has been thinking about Miles all day also.
So, Miles came home from school today happy, with his calendar colored green. I was relieved. I was really prepared for another bad night.

Our First School Trauma
Miles got a blue today in school. That means that it was not a green day (a good day), and he had to have one warning from the teacher. When I opened his folder I said Miles, you got a blue today. I was a little shocked, we have had all green so far. Miles came around the corner and just lost it. He was laying on the floor and crying hysterically. On his calendar his teacher wrote that he was playing with his flips in class (he alphabet letter on a ring). But when I asked Miles why he got a blue he said it was because Joshua was touching him. So, I am not exactly sure what happened.
Anyway, Miles crying all night long. We got in the bathtub, and he was still crying. We were getting ready for bed - he was still crying. Now it has turned into "I hate school!" "I'm never going back to school!" "I hate Ms. Hopkins!" When I asked him why he didn't want to go to school Miles responded - while crying - "I am never going back to school again because if I go back to school Ms. Hopkins is going to make me turn my card again, and I am never turning my card again. That is what old men do, and I am not going to be a old man!" With that response I started laughing out of control, and reminded that he was still going to go to school tomorrow.
This started back up again as soon as we got up this morning. Miles was still crying, and now refusing to get dressed, eat, brush his teeth, brush his hair....We fought him for about 45 minutes. I finally told Miles "School starts in 10 minutes. You will be going to school today. All that you are doing right now is choosing how hunger you will be, and what you will be wearing when you walk into class." With that he ran upstairs, still crying, and got dressed.
I was really upset with Miles teacher for giving him a blue yesterday. I don't think that the "crime" fit what I have been dealing with for the last 12-14 hours. Now, I feel really bad about sending Miles back to school. I want school to be a good, positive and enjoyable experience for Miles. I hope that he has a good day today, and maybe this was he needed to make sure that he behaves at school, and then school will be more enjoyable.

First Day of School
Tyson started preschool today. He has been so excited to go to school. I think that Tyson has really missed Miles during the day, especially when Drew is down for his nap, and Tyson has no buddies to play with.

Drew Meltdown
A couple of Drew funnies that happened today. Drew is really starting to become possessive of his belonging. He has also learned that the louder you scream and cry, the faster you back your belongings.
Funny 1: This morning Troy and I were in the office and Drew came running in with a book and tried to stick it in the shredder. I grabbed the book and set it down on the counter. Well Troy turned around and started shredding some papers. Drew freaked out! He started screaming "MY BOOK! MY BOOK!" As soon as I handed him his book back, he grabbed it and ran out of the office. We both started laughing.
Funny 2: I was checking out at the grocery store. Drew was in my cart and the kid that was bagging my groceries was loading them into a new cart. Drew was sitting there watching this. He started out telling the boy, "No, my toothbrush. Stop it! No, my toothbrush." This went on with everything that the guy bagged. Toward the end, Drew was screaming at the boy, "STOP IT! NO MY SNACKS!" But when the guy bagged Drew's yogurts - he lost it. The "NO STOP IT! NO MY YOGURT!" Which caused all the people in the check out line to stare. Also, when Drew gets really upset he starts shaking as he cries. So here is my Drew shaking, crying (very loudly), and screaming at the kid bagging the groceries to stop it. The guy looked me and said, "what is wrong with your kid?" I had been trying to calm Drew down during this exhibition of personally. I calmly looked at him and said "he thinks that you are taking his yogurt, snacks and toothbrush. He will stop as soon as we are done and I move him to that basket." Sure enough, when we were all done and moved Drew into the other cart. He stopped crying. The boy that was bagging our items, just started laughing, and so did I. What else can you do?

Labor Day
We had a very nice, relaxing labor day today. We went out on the boat with my parents. Our plan was to go eat breakfast at Charlies, but we were a little poky, so we got there for lunch. Our boys love to eat at the lake. They think it is so cool to drive up to the restaurant on the boat. After we ate we just cruised around the lake while Drew and Tyson (and most of the adults) napped. I told Troy that I think this is the first time since we have had kids that I just got to relax on the boat and enjoy the ride. It was helpful that Tyson was using me as his bed, so I was "forced" to lay in the front of the boat and let him rest.
Troy got to wake board until he was worn out and Tyson was brave and went on the tube by himself. I did not dare ski, my shoulder is feeling good, and I was scared that if I skied it would hurt my shoulder again.

First Day of School
Today was Miles first day of school. He was very excited to go this morning. Troy got to take him today and walk him into his class. He said that the teacher had an activity to do for them at their desk as soon as they got there. When they walked in, Miles sat down at his desk and was like bye Dad.
Here is Miles thoughts of his first day:
I liked the reading time and the cafe. (I think that means that he liked the lunch I fixed for him and the cafeteria.) There was also this really cool rock wall on the play ground.
That just shattered my idea of him coming home and telling me all his day. I got a report on the cafeteria and playground. At least his teacher sent me home a binder that I can read through and try to figure out what Miles did all at school.
This Miles when he got home today with his name tag and "GO" binder.
