Meet the Teacher

We got to go meet Miles teacher tonight, Ms. Hopkins. Miles is beyond excited to start school. I am freaking out! I can not grasp the fact that my baby is old enough to go to school, be away from me more than he is with me and he is excited about it. I have been really nervous about him not knowing anyone in his class. We have been doing T-Ball in our neighborhood and going to the neighborhood playgroups, but I was suddenly getting nervous that it wasn't enough. When we got to the school tonight to find out who his teacher was, two of the little boys from our T-Ball team that I really liked and was hoping would be in his class, were in his class. When we went into the class they were all sitting at the table together too. I don't know if I was more happy to see that, or Miles. I did really good until my friend Kelly walk in and was crying and said that she was so happy to see that Miles and Tristan were together. I guess that I am not the only nervous mom happy to see that kids are not alone.

Education Week

I had a great time at Education Week. I told Troy that I felt like I was 14 again at EFY and on a spiritual high. I enjoyed spending the week with Anna and just catching up. I am so grateful that we have been able to remain such good friends for this long.
The thing that impressed me the most about education week was that there was 20,000 people in attendance. We all had the same believe, and were able to start each class with prayer and openly talk about the gospel. I think that I have, unfortunately, grow accustom to not really talking about church or the gospel outside of church. That is something that I am going to try to change.

I loved going to all the classes. I think that in every class that I went to I had, as Oprah terms it, a light bulb moment. Now the trick is to apply what I have learned. Everything sounds easy when you are sitting in a classroom 1,000 miles away from from your real life and don't have to apply it right at that moment. :)

Coming home was an adventure - the flight that was suppose to be on had a mechanical and got cancelled. So, after I got re booked onto another airline that left 6 hours later, that ended up having a mechanical delay, I was very happy to get home to my family. Although the boys were not happy to see me. When I went to go pick them up, Miles said "does this mean that we don't get to go to Grandma's house or to friend anymore?" I am glad that they had a great time while I was gone, thanks to everyone that entertained my family while I was gone.

I am Off!

I am leaving today for Education Week. I am so excited to leave and meet up with Anna for a fun girls week. There are a lot of classes that I am looking forward to go to, and I am looking forward to a week to "recharge."

The Olympics

I love the Olympics, Troy does not. I have already gone through and set the DVR to record all of the Olympic events that are going to be televised, and Troy is dreading the next two weeks. I love to watch the opening ceremonies and all the nations walk in. I find it amazing that that many people from countries all around the world can come together in one place in peace.

Our kids went over to a friends home tonight and they had a sign on the door welcoming them to the Olympics. They did a couple of fun "Olympic events". Everyone one won a candy necklace medal and watched the opening ceremonies. What a fun night.

Kindergarten Registration

Troy took Miles over to the school and got him registered for school. Miles is beyond excited to start school. I am feeling a little sad about the change that is going to occur in my live in about 2 weeks. I will never again a have all my kids home all day, I am now going to be a Mom of school age kids.

Breaking Dawn

I got my book Monday morning, and starting reading and soon as I could open the box. I know that I is a little immature, but I have been waiting a long time to read the end of the story. I have to say that I loved the book! I was so happy how this story ended. But now I need to join the world of the living and get everything that I haven't done for the last two days, done. :(

Primary Activity

We had a great primary activity tonight. We met at one of the members home who have a ranch, and the kids were doing a trek from Nauvoo. So when we got there two of the Young Women were dressed up as Indians and riding horses to greet us and give us directions. So, that started it for the boys, and they were so excited to be there. We had a picnic by the pond, hayrides, the boys got to make necklaces, and they had costumes out for the families to put on and take our pictures. What a fun night. I was glad that the whole family was there to enjoy the night.
