Dancing in the Rain

Well, more like me running and yelling at kids to run, who were dancing in the rain. We did a cannery run again today, and this time I volunteered to stay home and babysit. After last week, I would rather deal with a house full of kids, then brave another day at the cannery. My friend Sara stayed with me, and we had a good day with all the kids. It had been raining most of the morning, but it looked like it was clearing up. So we decided to tackle the challange of taking 8 kids on a walk. 4 of them under 2. Crazy - yes we were. So we start off on our leisurely walk around the block. So far, so good! About half way back to my house it just started pouring. We got no warning drops - just a down pour. I am sure that we were a sight to see running up the street with our double strollers and herd of kids playing the rain - no running. Once we got to the house. we all looked liked we just showered with our clothes on. We got all the kids back in the house, and looked outside, and it stopped raining. Oh, I am bad luck.

Did You Ever Do This?

I remember when I was little, I loved jumping off of the stairs onto a pile of laundry. My boys do the stay thing. They love Monday's - we don't go anywhere so they get to stay in the jammies all day, and I let them watch TV or play on the computer and have a low key day for the boys and it is my laundry day. That is the best part of the day for the boys. Funny sounding yes I know, but here is our laundry routine: They lay on the landing and I drop the laundry on them, then have to find them in the pile. After I have a good pile, they jump off of the stairs onto it. They love it! I just laugh because I remember having the same fun.

The day is here...FINALLY!

When I came home on Thursday, Miles and Tyson came to the door to greet me and I had a BIG suprise. They ran back in to Kristin yelling, "Mommy look out front!!!!". They saw the boat. This is one of their (and my) favorite things to do. I was able to de-winterize the boat and we went to the lake for a little while on Saturday to run it around and make sure everything still ran smoothly. This was a fun preview of the summer to come! Miles was bummed that we did not stay all day, but it was a still bit chilly (yes, we consider 76 degrees chilly; THIS IS TEXAS!).

Miles Treat

We went to the mall today to look for a Power Ranger swimsuit. When we were getting ready to go, Miles came down with his wallet and said that he wanted to buy something. I looked in his wallet and he had $1 and about 75 cent is coins - mostly pennies. I took his wallet and told him that I think he enough that he buy a treat.

By the way - we didn't get a swimsuit they were all sold out. The girl said may have some in the back we just got a shipment, but we haven't opened the boxes yet to see what we have. Miles was crushed and trying so hard to not cry - and I all I could think was you definitely don't kids or else you would have felt terrible about what you just did and gone back and looked in those boxes! I even asked - are you sure that you can't look?

OK back to my story: After our heart crushing blow at the Disney Store I told Miles why don't we go get our treat. He picked cookies, we go to pay, and he grabbed his wallet out of my purse and was standing there with it open so he could pay. It was so cute!! The kid that rung us up was so nice to, because he total Miles how much it was so that Miles could pay him. When we told how much it was I turned to Miles and handed him a $10 bill and said can I trade you? He paid and then took the change.

After our cookies, I told Miles, thanks for taking us out for a treat! He gave me the sweetest smile. I hope this continues - that was really fun have Miles take me out.

My Baby is Growing Up

When I took Drew in several weeks ago for his well baby visit I was talking to the doctor about one of my frustration with Drew that he takes off his diaper and pees in his bed - pretty much every time we put him in it. I consider it a good day if I can get Drew up in the morning or from a nap and everything is not soaked. I most of the time he does this - I know he is awake because he will only pee on his sheets - not his blanket of baby (his monkey). So the doctor told me that Drew is very aware of himself and I should potty training him. I honestly left the office thinking that he was insane - he have forgot that we were talking about my 20 month old baby.

Ok - so about a week ago I started filling up the tub put Drew on the toilet just to see what would happen - and he peed! So we all celebrated and I thought that was cool, we will see if it continues. He has been using the bathroom about 3 times a day since then. This morning I got him up from his nap and once again, everything was wet. So I got him out and put on underwear. He has worn it all morning and actually came and got me saying "pee pee mama". I am in shock!! I look at him and think he is way to little to know what he is doing. I guess we will see how long this last.

Soccer Video

The soccer season has come to an end. It was a fun season. We had some great kids on the team, and really enjoyed it. At the end of the season party we gave all the kids a video I made for them. (Miles is number 9)
