We Swam Today

We have had such a mild winter. It really hasn't felt like winter, and today was nice day. The boys have been begging us to swim. Our heater hasn't been working for the last year, but Troy got it fixed yesterday so we heated up the pool - actually just the spa. We had the Lawson kids over and they all swam for awhile. Then came in freezing so we had hot chocolate and got warm. I think that the kids loved it.

Fun Weekend

Troy had a scout campout this weekend. I think that he had fun despite the cool, windy weather. He said that he got 4 wheeling, so I am sure that made the cool worth it.

The boys and I played and had a great time while Troy was gone. Wendy's husband was on the campout with Troy, so we had a slumber party with all our boys. The boys thought it was so fun. I told Wendy I felt like a teenager again...I think that we all had a fun night. We eat snacks, watched movies, read magazine's, played lego's and trains. What could be better.

This morning the boys had a primary activity. They were tired and not really wanting to go, but when they walked into the church and saw construction hats sitting on the chairs for them, they immediately changed their attitudes. They came home with the cutest family boards that they made and smiles on their faces.

After the primary activity they got to go to a friends birthday that was at an indoor pool. Drew slept through the whole swimming part of the party and woke up for the pizza. I think this was the first birthday party that Drew has been to. When they did the pinata, Drew grabbed the bat and then stood there like what am I suppose to do.

I am happy because everyone had a great weekend, and the boys are now completely worn out and will sleep good tonight.

Drew's Prayer

Drew's prayer have become increasingly funny. It has got to the point that Troy and I can hardly keep a straight face through the prayer. They use to go something along the lines of "Heavenly Father, Thank you for the day, Amen." Now they have turned into a wish list: "Heavenly Father, please bless Mommy to play trains, please bless Daddy to play trains, please bless Tysie to play at the park, please bless that I go to Grant's house....." The whole time he has his eyes squeezed shut, head tilted up to the sky, and practically yelling out his requests. I can hardly wait for the next prayer.

I Gave Up

Ok, So I went and bought Drew diapers today. I gave up on potty training for a couple more months. I was getting to frustrated. I know that he can go potty, but I felt like I was training myself. He can't pull his pants up and down yet so I had to be there for every potty trip. Plus, I think we were only success because I was setting the timer and taking him, rather than him realizing that he needed to go to the potty. So, we will try again in a couple of months. I want the potty training to be a postive experience for both of us. I waited until Miles and Tyson were 3 and it was really easy and a good experience for us, so I am going to do the same with Drew. I am just getting impatience and would like to stop buying diapers and trying to make my baby grow up before he is ready. Although, we did take down the crib yesterday, so I feel like we are moving out of the baby stages of life.

Potty Training Whoa's

I decided to start training Drew this weekend. It has been not been very successful, so maybe I am trying to early. I waited until Miles and Tyson were both 3 before I started with them. I am going to give it a couple more days before I decide.

Today we decided to have a project day since it was MLK day and Troy only worked for part of the day. Well, I got side track in one of our projects, and forgot to take Drew to the bathroom. When I remembered I went upstairs and Drew had pooped in his underwear.

When I asked him why he pooped on Thomas (he was wearing his Thomas the Train underwear), he answered. "I didn't! Thomas pooped!"

2008 Christmas Video

I made the Christmas video this year, but we did not get them in the mail. So, I am going to post it here, and hope that you enjoy our year in review. My kids love these videos and look forward to them every year.

Happy New Year

I don't even know if you can say that now that we are half way through the month. I really feel like we are just going through the motion here and not a whole lot has happened since Christmas. I didn't feel good over New Years, so Troy and boys watched movies and I started reading "Midnight Sun" - a manuscript by Stephenie Meyers, and that started my obsession with Twilight again. So, I have been reading the books again, and honestly enjoying them more this time around. I think that I start reading books and get so caught up in the story that I read them to fast and miss some of the details. I also read a book called "The Thirteenth Tale" for book club and really liked it. I actually think that everyone who read the book for book club loved it.

I have been procrastinating setting goals for myself for the New Year. I think that I have delayed on that because once I write them down, they are real, and then I have to do them. As I have thought about it, I decided that I wanted to better myself in a physical and spiritual way. So I only set two goals this year. 1) I am going to ride in the MS150 in May with Rod, so I have been working on that. Not nearly as much as I need to.....but I am writing it down now, so I will change. I do have a friend that is going to ride with me so we have been working out together and I think that we will be good motivation for each other. But, I don't want to stop there...so after the race I will come up with another goal to work on. 2) I have not been consistent with my scripture since my mission. This year in Sunday School we are studying the D&C. This fall in Nauvoo I was truly touched by the conviction that the early saints had to establish the church, learn the doctrine and live the principles. I want to continue that feeling by studying the scriptures this year.
