3rd Day of Christmas

On the 3rd day of Christmas we did do what we were planning to do.  Troy was going to take the boys to Grapevine to watch the parade of lights while I went to our Relief Society Christmas party.  I haven't been feeling good since Thanksgiving....I think I got the flu.  I started feeling better Tuesday, and now I have a sinus infection.  So, I didn't go to my party, and Troy didn't take the boys to Grapevine.

2nd Day of Christmas

On the 2nd day of christmas we decorated our Christmas tree.

Troy showing off the new family ornament for the year.  It is a little Xena.

Miles with ornmanent that Tyson got for him.  It is a snowman made out of baseballs.

Tyson with his ornament that Drew got for him.  It is a cow made out of a bell.

Drew with his ornament that Miles got him.  It is a video game, and Drew already broke it.  He has been playing with it like a video game.  We will see if it lasts through Christmas.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

Well, at least as much as we can expect in Texas. It rained off and on all day yesterday and the temperature kept dropping so I was worried about waking up to ice and freezing rain. Instead we got snow!!

To bad that it was all gone in a couple of hours. But it was sure to fun to watch this morning. Our backyard looks empty to me in this picture we moved the swing set up to the ranch over of the weekend.

1st Day of Christmas

Troy and I have alway done something fun for the boys to start off the Christmas season. This year we could not find something that we wanted to do, so we decided to do the 24 days of Christmas. Each day we are going to do a fun activity with the boys. I think that it is going to fun, and I have had fun planning it.

Today we started off with an ornament exchange. This is a somthing that I am hoping will become a new tradition for us. The boys had a great time picking out ornaments for each other and we exchanged them at dinner.
When Troy and I got married both of our Moms gave a box a some of our old ornaments, and it has been so fun to hang them on the tree each year. I am hoping to do the thing for my boys.

Field Trip - Las Colinas

I think that I am as addicted to our field trips as the boys. Miles got the whole week off of school this week, so we wanted to enjoy them. I was planning on doing a field trip with the boys tomorrow, but Troy had a couple of things to do with work that the whole family could join in on so we did.

We started out by going to Grandpa Whatcott work and getting a tour of War-Lok. Troy has become one of their distributors so it was fun to get a behind the scenes tour and meet the people there. The boys loved the fact that Grandpa gave them each a flashlight.

We were right by the Founders Plaza at the airport. It is a place that the boys and I went to over the summer during one of our field trips. Troy was making phone calls and the boys and I were watching planes land and take off and running around to get the wiggles out.

We made a couple more stops and then ended our day in Las Colinas to see the Mustang statues. I thought that they were so cool! It is huge statues of mustang horses running through water.
Drew our animal boy ran right up to them to check them out.
We had fun spending time there. It was a really fun to get to spend with the whole family.

Denton Turkey Roll

One of my friends, Jana just started riding with me. It has been so fun to have friends to ride with. It make it so much easier and more enjoyable to be out. We have done a couple of group ride with some of her family and it is has been fun.

They were all riding in the Turkey Roll today and a couple of days ago I decided to join them. We rode 35 miles and it was alot of fun. It was the longest distance that Jana has rode so I was proud of her. I think that this is going to be an annual event now.

Miles Thanksgiving Feast

Miles class had a Thanksgiving feast at school today. I got to go and join him and help with the food preparations. I thought that the party was so fun. I really liked all the Mom's that came to volunteer and thought all the food was yummy.

Miles with his place mat that he made.
After the lunch was done and we were cleaning up, Miles turned to me and said "Can I go home and eat now? I didn't like this lunch." As I looked at his plate that he was throwing away he did not eat one thing on it. Yes I did take him home so that he didn't have to starve for the rest of the day, but I think that Miles is going to have a couple more days of hunger. We are going to two Thanksgiving dinners and I am hoping to get enough left overs for a couple more days.
