Miles Using His Agency

I picked Miles up from school yesterday and we went throught the normal routine....how was school? What did you learn about today? I got all the normal answers as we drove to the park to play. Drew was asleep so I stayed in the car with him and started looking through Miles "Go Binder". He got a blue for his behavior and it sad that he is not doing his work. So after Miles wakes up we walk over to the park and I ask Miles why he got a blue. He says, "you weren't suppose to see that."
I said "I did, so why did you get your blue?"
"I am not going to tell you" he says.
"Do you know why you got a blue?"
"Yes"
"Do you know what you need to do so that you don't get one again?"
He looks at me and says, "I am not going to talk to you about this!" and off he runs.

Honestly, I starting laughing. What am I suppose to do? I thought it was funny that at 5 years old he is already choosing what we get to talk about. I asked him a couple more times about it, and each time I got the "I am not going to tell you." I am really wanting to call his teacher and get the story, but I have decided that I need to let Miles tell me what he wants me to know right now. Isn't that part of him learning to use his agency?

Trains, Trains, Trains

Troy has been telling me about the model train exhibit at the children's hospital in Dallas. It is the largest permanent exhibit. So we took the boys to go see it today. Drew was so excited he was shaking. Tyson and Miles thought it was cool, but they are not into trains as much as Drew. They looked at all the trains and then asked us to go home, Drew could have stayed there all day. I took pictures, but they didn't work out.

Outside of the hospital they had a play area, and that is what all the boy got excited about. There was a hopscotch game, so I taught the boys how to play it. They all tried it, but Tyson stayed there and he spent most of his time playing hopscotch. It kind of made me sad that I haven't thought to play it with him earlier. Anyway, it was a fun impromptu family day.

Relief Society Meeting

We had this great RS meeting planned for today. All of the sisters met together we had a great lesson about unity and coming together. I made a video for the closing song. As Troy was setting it up we realized that we forgot to bring the extra speakers for my computer. So, we had the video going, and no one could hear the music. I felt really bad about that, but by the time we realized it, we didn't have a back up plan. I like the video thought so I thought I would post it here.

Super Bowl Sunday

We had our annual super bowl party this year. We had our best turnout and it was alot of fun. There were 7 families that came, and it was full of noise from all the kids. I will dare say that it was the most fun super bowl party that we have had. I think that everyone enjoyed themselves and we had some great food. After everyone left I was wishing that I made myself a "doggie bag" of all the salsas. This is the one party that Troy really likes to have each year, and I think that he already has it on schedule for next year.
