Boating Day

Because of the high winds at our family reunion, everyone was not able to get there fill on the boat. So, we took our Whatcott cousins out for one more day before they leave tomorrow. I think that everyone had a great time. We all, including the adults, got our turn on the tube. We also just bought a knee board, so we tried that out for the first time. It has been a long time since I have been on a knee board, and it was alot of fun.

When I was growing up we had two knee boards on our boat, and Greg and I use to go out together and have fun. I hope that my boys will also have fun memories of each other on our boat.

Swim Lessons

I signed all of the boys up for swim lessons. Miles got to start today. He has been so excited, and really looking forward to this. He wants to be swimming without floaties. I think that he is really close, and I think that the next couple of weeks is going to give him the confidence to do it. I am really impressed with the teaching methods of this swim school, so I think that this going to be something that we do every summer now.

New Tradition

We all went to church with Don and Linda, and then took family pictures. What a crew!
Linda started a new tradition with the girls going to get a massage together. So we did that on Monday. I don't know if she was intending for this to be a tradition, but I sure enjoyed it and would gladly continue it as a tradition. :)

Reunion - Saturday

We tried to get the pontoon boat again today, but we were once unsuccessful because of the wind. Troy took a boat load off for a morning run while I packed up camp. We had to be out of our camp site by 2:00, and I was ready to leave by that point also. We stopped at this little Mexican food restaurant right by the lake for lunch. This is my white trash picture with no make up, no contacts, hair not done, baby in a diaper in a public place, and I don't really care. I have been camping for two days, and grateful for air condition at this point.

Reunion - Friday

Again today we had wind so we were not able to rent the pontoon as we had planned. Troy was very happy to be the boat chauffeur and give all the kids a turn on the tube.

I think this is Trent realizing that he is alone on the boat with all the kids....hahaha :)

I took the boat for a little while, but bent up our prop pretty good when I was trying to un-beach the boat. So after a "Aunt Kris Wild Ride" around the choppy lake, I decided that it would be better for me to hang out on the beach with the kids. The boys had a blast. Sad to say, but I think this was the first time they have been on a beach. And probably the closest thing to a real beach they will be on for a while.

Whatcott Family Reunion

We had a great family reunion this week. Our reunion was at Lake Ray Roberts. Here are some of our hightlights.

We went up Thursday and set up camp. We all got good practice at putting up our tents. We got to put them up, and take them down twice, but I will not got into that story.
Wehad high winds the whole weekend, so we chose not to put the boat water on Thursday night. I think that the kids were disappointed for a little while, then decided that they could practice being on the boat. So this is where the played most of the afternoon while we set up camp.
Thursday we had a great dinner of steaks and potatoes. But of course, my kids wouldn't eat it, so we got creative and made chicken nuggets in the dutch oven for the kids.
